The NDT Technician is responsible for conducting non-destructive testing on aircraft and aircraft components as directed and within their scope of approval for aircraft listed on the Avmax AMO approval.

Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain a certifying authority in
    • Eddy Current Testing;
    • Ultrasonic Testing;
    • Magnetic Particle Inspection;
    • Dye Penetrant Inspection.
  • Complete specialty work in maintenance shops (as required).
  • Interpret technical publications and diagrams.
  • Maintain tools and equipment required to perform primary duties.
  • Order aircraft spare parts and materials.
  • Act as Team Lead if required.
  • Carry out workplace inspections and clean ups.
  • Maintains a CGSB 2 certification.
  • Carries out classroom, practical and/or on-the-job training for other technicians, servicing technicians, and apprentices.

Qualifications

  • Formal training in aviation systems.
  • CGSB Level 2 certification in eddy current required; CGSB Level 2 certification in magnetic particle, dye penetrant, and ultrasonic NDI considered an asset.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Experience

  • Formal training in aviation systems.
  • CGSB Level 2 certification required.
