Key Performance Indicators / Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of the Quality Management System Strategy at Avmax.
  • Support the Director of Quality with monitoring compliance and adequacy of procedures required to ensure safe and efficient operational practices.
  • Monitor SMS/audit findings and coordinate corrective action activities; ensure corrective measures are effective and meet acceptable reliability standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and rectify non-conformances to maintain Avmax's AS9100 certification.
  • Identify deficiencies in the company's quality management system and processes and suggest improvements.
  • Control maintenance certification records and physical stamps.
  • Revise and maintain company manuals and forms to ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations.
  • Participate as a member of the CRC.
  • Provide administrative oversight and ensure quality records are properly controlled.
  • Other tasks as assigned.



  • Demonstrated systems thinking: taking a broad-scale, long-term view, assessing options and implications, and understanding the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Excellent communicator; must be effective within all organizational levels, internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with other individuals in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
  • Able to write concise definitions, descriptions, and sequenced process steps in English.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Intermediate use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Self-motivated with high standards of quality and consistency.



  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a quality-related role within aviation.
  • Auditing and ISO 9001 training required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with procedure, report, and technical writing considered an asset.
  • Relevant post-secondary education; industry-relevant professional training and certifications considered a strong asset.
